Dont get the silverline 1's of ebay 100 for £25 they are crap! used all 100 in 2 weeks, there seemed to be 1 in 10 that would last, usually the first disc out each pack,
slit discs do a nice quick cut tho, unlike the thicker discs.
Hi
Try some Dronco ones from Weldequip

The nicest cutting discs i have found are Rhodius XT (0.8mm thick), Reca F1, Klingspor Kronenflex and Norton make some nice ones too. The Makita brand ones from Screwfix are pretty good too.
Grinding discs are fairly similar, but look out for different compounds- harder discs last longer, but remove material slower, whilst softer ones take it off quicker, but dont last as long.
I bought some Rhodius ones off fleabay on a recommendation off someone on here. They seem to work ok. I've found, being left handed, that I can hold my grinder like a ginormous marker pen and sort of draw the cut, with the sparks flying off in front of me.
being left handed cant be helpful as almost everything seems to have a right hand bias. which is fine for us right handers, but not so good for you.
The greatest thing about the 1mm disks is they are a third of the size of normal disks, which means even if you own a 500 watt grinder , it will cut like a dream. only thing i found is if they snag they go bang. half the time now when i make a curved gate or railing, i normally cut over sized bars, tack the bottom in place, then slip the grinder across the top of the bar. this normally allows for a near perfect cut at the right angle and a good fit. I have seen 0.8mm thick ones but havent been brave enough to try them yet
Being a lefty does have problems. They put handle taps on grinders to use them left handed, but then the sparks fly towards you.
Then again, I don't have that many problems these days. Most stuff is ambidextrous, and I'm not that left handed, so I can use my right hand for most stuff.
I've been using these cutting disc.yes cheapo stuff!
don't last long and quite messy.
but it does the job for me I've cut 40mm x12mm flat no problem.
1 disc last about 3 cuts but thats it.
I don't use it often so it not a problem for me.
