so my first plasma i got was a sureweld. 34K i think.... cuts upto 6mm but very slow..... with built in pump.
handy for thin stuff and being portable.
i then got a new cut50 to use for thicker stuff.
but i only got to use it twice, the third time i tried it wouldn't work correctly.
so i took the cover off and had a nose inside and found a cement resistor had come away from the pcb.
it would seem they was wires down so tight there wasn't any room for expansion when getting warm/hot
so i searched for new 5W cement resistors. and found i could get them from china. but was a long wait.
but found Maplin's did the slightly bigger 7W version.
so i got four of them, but never got around to sorting it out.
my plan was to hot glue the 5w ones to the pcb and disconnect them
then hot glue the 7w on top of the 5w to allow the room for the wires to get soldiered into the pcb
but other things and life pushes things further back and it never got looked at.
fast forward to now...
what to do with this cut50....... i not longer need it as i have just got a hypertherm..
i dont really wanna just bin it, if i remember right it cost me £300 new
so i could sell it as is - in need of fixing
or repair it and sell it working...
so not sure which way to go with it....... what would you do. ?
