Hello all,
I am currently overhauling the ABC suspension system on my Mercedes. I will be replacing the hydraulic hoses due to age, which is fine.. a hydraulic shop can do this for me.
Now instead of the hoses, in some places there are hard lines which are formed to fit in tight spaces. These are steel, with steel fittings, and due to being fixed into aluminium valve blocks, I damaged some of the fittings when removing.
I need to get new steel lines, made up.. so I need them bent to shape and then flared (DIN Singles, I think).
My local Pirtek said they can do all the hose stuff no issue, and form the lines too.. provided they aren't too complex. But they can't even recommend anywhere for me to get the pipes flared.
(It's in Ireland btw).
How specialised is this? Would anybody have any advice for me?
P.S. It's a bit of a bummer about the hard lines, because even though they are a bit rusted (can be fixed).. they are fine.. it's just the fittings that are damaged.
Thanks a lot.
