CuSi3 soldering with Arcox18

Hi,
I recently thought about CuSi3 soldering with my Mag inverter.

So I looked up some wire and found out that the Datasheet says that you should use pure Argon on it.

The Project doesn't justify buying a second gas bottle.

Has someone tried CuSi3 welding with normal Mag Gas (82% Argon, 18% CO2)?

dosent work worth a duck with mix

My experience is that without pulse or a synergic machine silicon bronze and mag welding is a right pain to set up. But yes, pure argon required for sure.

Pure argon. Won’t work with CO2

you need to set up a very stiff short circuit arc. 17v something like that.

ESAB CaddyMig (well any Qset Machine) runs it lovely.

That may be where we were going wrong... The rep was setting it much higher than that...
