Current draw on 3phase motor

Hi, does anyone have a rough idea how much a 1.5cv 3 phase 415/380v motor will draw max amps per phase?
The housing plate says "32a" which strikes me as enourmous.
I did some googling and 1.5CV appears to be 1.1 KW, which @ 380v is a few amps, not 32 (it works out to be 2.9, so maybe its 3.2a with losses and the point has gone missing).
Would that be a total across all phases as a rough number or is it going to be lower than that per phase?
I have to make a decision on if a vfd I own is big enough to run it on, so getting it wrong will be followed shortly by a poof noise from a underspec'd vfd.
Are my numbers above roughly correct?

the run current will be about 3.0A at 460V, with a 15A breaker to handle the starting load.

Thanks for that, handy info so straight into the bookmarks! I thought I was going mad trying to work out a 32amp draw. It also shows my compressor has a 15hp motor on it

More digging round turned up a manual for the KEB vfd and that shows the 3phase in 3phase out variant is rated for a 4kw motor load at 380v. Just ordered a diy tacho kit from ls caine for the lathe itself, and got to wait for the new motor bearings to arrive (it "sang" when under load, so while it was in bits...) and all systems are go to swap out the 750rpm single phase motor for a 3phase one like it was sold with new but with variable frequency drive giving me infinate speed control. Got to love it when a plan comes together...

Hello Mr. Fluffy,

did that 32A on the nameplate have LRA beside it, LRA means Locked Rotor Amps so is the maximum current it could draw, pretty close to initial start surge current.

Its stamped "TV 32A", however its French in origin (stamped Patay, Lyon) , so TV could mean a similar thing. Ill set the starter to flick out at above 5amp per phase once its going, so if the lathe ever has a bad crash and jams up, the power will just trip and save things.
Its in bits at the moment, no brushes or anything inside it. Just a rotor on two bearings, and a winding, guess it must be a squirrel caged induction motor. Makes my life easy anyway, slip on a pair of new 6204 bearings and away it goes
