Cromadex paint has loads of bubbles in it

Ive been painting the big bandsaw that I laid my hands on with cromadex paint using a foam roller. When applied it ends up with loads of tiny bubbles in it, tried a furry radiator roller too and that was the same. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

I had the same problem recently applying clearcoat to some plywood. I think some paints are worse for it than others.

I will try a slower hardener next time. Does your paint use hardener? Also try adding more thinners and loading it up as much as possible.

No hardener for my paint it's single pack. I didnt have any thinners in it either.

what's it like using a paint brush

I havent tried using a brush yet but will do later on once I get back to it

It's fine when using a brush, no bubbles or anything.

Did you wash the roller before use?

I didn't once and had similar "bubbles" to you. it turned out to be the silicon they used on the roller.

Was not a happy Vark.

I had a mate who was a painter, both powder and wet paint systems. He used to curse something rotten when over the week end other work members would use the paint area and clean their cars and use a ton of silicon based polish and cleaners.

its just what happens with some paints ..if the brush works fine then use that

or if the roller speeds things up roller it then gently lay the brush over the surface the smooth out the bubbles

I didnt wash the roller, so maybe its that? Anyway I've done it with a brush and while it's not the best of finishes it will be fine for an old saw.
