I picked up a Crawford Rapidgrip last week. It didn’t feel very smooth in operation so I thought I would strip it down. It was full of the usual dried grease and grit. A couple of questions if anyone could help. The collar for gripping and releasing looks like it has a keyway? The collar has 2 keyways but only one seat. Should this have a key?
Also what should I use for lubrication should I use? It has an oiler like you get on a lathe, so I assume oil rather than grease?
