I worked on a job once with a big tower crane on it the guy that worked it only just fitted up the ladder, he had to stop for 3 fag breaks before he got to the top, and it wasn't that high

Our crane driver at the foundry had a wooden leg. He fell down the ladder once and was laid in the sand at the bottom saying he'd broken his leg and when the first aider said wait till we get the stretcher he replied just send somebody home for my spare one.

Hi Guys
Put a roof on a 50 storey building in london last year. Crane drivers and banksmen work on different radio channels for communication. The drivers used to have a scaffold access on the 40th floor to save theyre legs... When one of the 4 cranes was ready to come down the fitters came in and started theyre work. Only to find out after several hours and after removing the jib that they were taking apart the wrong crane. The jib was put back on and an insurance assessor was rushed out to recommision the crane. This job involved the assessor having to walk the entire length of the jib to check the safety of the cables... Rather him than me i say. ha ha
