Does anyone know of a courier who will collect a chainsaw in England and transport it to N.Ireland.Most of the ones i looked at have a chainsaw in their
prohibited list.
I took a petrol Stihl saw with me on a flight to Europe. Contacted the airline first and they said (a) run until fuel used up rather than simply pouring out surplus (b) it needed to go in the hold.
Got some interest at the x ray scan but as they were expecting it no problem.
I suspect couriers could have a problem with petrol / chain oil leaking out hence maybe one of the reasons for not transporting. One thing is make sure wrapped under packaging (many layers of pallet wrap ?) so no chance of any leaks. That way it could be described as garden tool.
Thanks for the advice,
Its one i won on ebay as spares or repair ,the seller has it boxed with the bar removed so its not obvious it's a chainsaw.
I need to get it collected and couriered to me.
the funny thing is one was posted to me from England a few weeks
ago with parcels2go and it was obviuosly a chainsaw,it was just heavily
wrapped in bubble wrap and paper, but their site prohibits carring chainsaws.
