Cost to leather retrim a dashboard

Got a quote today from Dclass (home counties), £480 for the top half, £960 for top and bottom. Will call round some of the local places tomorrow.

It seems that when ever a Jag or Merc is involved, the price automatically doubles for anything.

I am awaiting a quote from Transcal in Livingstone (who have done an SL before), I also called a few other specialist vehicle trimmers around Edinburgh who did not want to take on the job, they said they were too busy and there was too much risk involved with the job taking too much time due to complexity. That was from a pair of very experienced guys with good reputations, so I am thinking it would be best to stick to a supplier who has experience with the R107 dash specifically and not an R&D exercise for someone else.

After 3 hours of reverse engineering I finally got it out, it was a real tight squeeze to get it past the A pillars.

Transcal quote was £1400, vinyl paint is looking more and more likely.

Finally the heater box was out tonight, first job is to replace all the foam seals on the heater box flaps as the original foam has turned to dust. Luckily there is no sign of rust or water ingress on the bulkhead, which the problem that kills most R107s.
