Corsa C 1.3cdti head gasket

Bought a wee corsa c 2005 van cheap as head gasket was away drove well etc on way home.

Now timing tools arrived and did the gasket got the head skimmed. new gasket that is all was put on as chain etc was all good.

now the wee bugger is hard to start and is died to rev if it will rev at all.

any ideas? could timing have slipped even tho it was locked up??

Is there any smoke out the exhaust?

some white smoke, it will start then cut out, this will go on for a 10times then it will start and rev but be died

Recheck your timing marks first stop. Correct gasket for engine?

going to check timing again tomorrow-it was all locked during the strip down and rebuild could timing have moved ???

In theory if locked properly no but did you rotate the engine when chain fitted and tensioned to ensure the marks still lined up. A few full rotations to ensure all is good is what I normally do.

no didnt turn it over until the side timing chain case was back on so tomorrow check timing and strip side most likely off again

Yep all connected up, very little was removed from engine to get head off, only bugger was the egr the two bolts getting my hand in to get to them.

going to re check all thanks guys for the extra pair of eyes as such its something silly (fingers crossed lol)
