Corrosion inhibitors for welding tables, mills lathes etc?

Ive a few Tables tops in my garage that are prone to rust from condensation throughout the winter and wondered what people use to stop the rust forming?

For my Woodworking stuff I just use a paste wax but I wonder if for the welding stuff there is something better as it'll be a paint to have to clean properly before applying it.

ACF50 I know would work but I wonder if there are other options?

What does everyone use to stop the moisture killing everything that could rust?

Dan Gelbart reckons a wipe over with dilute sodium hydroxide (caustic soda) keeps rust away. Haven't had the courage to try it myself though! He has some other thoughts too (from 13:55)

I notice from the comments on that video that he now recommends giving them a wipe over with an soap impregnated steel wool pad (SOS cleaning pad / Brillo pad) to avoid sloshing caustic soda around.

I was going to say ACF50 but you’ve already mentioned that, I’ve been using good old fashioned WD40 on my pillar drill, has worked so far.

Yeah I think I might try that. I can Stuff from Ambersil through work and they do one that seems to indicate it could be basically the same thing so might give that a go. if it doesnt work I'll give the ACF a try

I use a mix of wd40 with a bit of hydraulic oil to add body to it. Just a quick wipe…mill and lathe get a good wash in it, topped up at intervals as they are not used much.

It smokes a-bit when you get it hot welding though!
