with my trials car, I wanted pretty close to ideal ackerman to maximise low speed physical grip - no wish to create a situation where I deliberately made a tyre loose grip.

Hello.
I just came upon this post whilst googling 190e roll centre correction.
Did you have any luck with this in the end? I have a similar problem although still have the steering box.
I'm evo1 converted on 17" wheels so running pretty low.
I have a set of the Hedgehog Motorsport balljoint spacers but not 100% sold on them...
Would prefer an extended balljoint but had no luck finding any....
Any pointers - realise this post is years old now but worth a try!
