need to be G3 actuallyYou do know that an unvented installation needs notifying to building control once its installed, usually done under a competent persons scheme
need to be G3 actually
The immersion needs to be done by a spark to part P does it not?G3 refers to the section of the building regs, having been G3 qualified for 20 years in both vented and unvented systems I was merely pointing out it needed registering. But yes you are correct it does need to be installed by a qualified engineer, who I would expect to know how to wire the immersion heater as it is classed as safety critical on an unvented cylinder
The immersion needs to be done by a spark to part P does it not?
The immersion needs to be done by a competent person, part P is to allow non sparks to do **** poor electrical installations putting real sparks out of work in anything that isn't a special location
On unvented its one of the safety devices so the G3 installer is the one who signs off that it is correct
Sorry @Kayos I couldn't resist!
Its just another way of them making money, It does not really stop the numpteys doing dangerous things.I think it was a good idea in principle but the fact a kitchen fitter can install domestic work after a weeks training with no problem but I can't without getting it signed off by someone else unless I spend a fortune with the NIC or others is very wrong!
and what the kitchen firms do is employ one part p fitter who signs off another half dozen fitters work off that arentI think it was a good idea in principle but the fact a kitchen fitter can install domestic work after a weeks training with no problem but I can't without getting it signed off by someone else unless I spend a fortune with the NIC or others is very wrong!
