Corner clamps

Forgive me, I seem to be getting old

For the life of me, and 3 hours trying various different search terms on eBay, I’m still at a loss.

I’m hunting for some corner clamps that were linked to in a thread on here, somewhere

Self assembly, laser or cnc cut, 2 flat plates 50mm or so wide with 4 slots in each, and 2 corner braces with 3 holes in for c-clamps etc.. A wonderful description, but it may jog someone’s memory, or the listing is in someone’s watch list perhaps?

Pretty neat stuff they manufacture basically a copy of the American Fireball one's that are horrendously expensive and would cost a fortune to import, and at the end of the day, you only buy them once.

They don’t look a particularly good design to me.
Yes you could clamp to it but there ain’t much of the overhang on the flat to get a clamp on so your clamping on the two cut edges on the inside which is naff.
There is also no means of setting the steel flat. Corner clamps have an area to set your two pieces perfectly flat then you bring them together to a right angle with the clamps.
In my honest opinion those things could be made so much better.

It’s even worse.
He or she has now limited the places you can actually place a clamp and added a lump more weight to them.
Shame really because £35 ain’t too bad. They could actually make them so much better.
My home builds are far more useful.

Also bought two sets of item number 162853551107 too, so there should be enough corner braces/clamps/angles to go around for a while.

Certainly.
I made 2 of these. Use em all the time.
At £35 I’d make a lot more.

That’s all they need to be.
In fairness mine only do right angles but that’s not to say the same principle can’t be made for other angles.

I had a lump of 70×30 literally welded it at a right angle, used as corner clamp and also when making a frame and need to clamp something off the table. Accuracy and ease of clamping are most Important.

Mine are just offcuts of box section, dead simple to make and free, got a few laying about in different sizes, some made from stainless

These are excellent but only useful for tacking up because you can’t get to anymore than 2 sides. Really really accurate for getting long length very square. I bought 4 in total.
My homemade ones are not as accurate or flat as these but plenty accurate enough for my typical 1mm fab tolerances.
The difference is I can weld the full joint in the home made clamp.

Both of the jigs used by Richard and Paul look ideal, the ones in the links i can see being trouble when tightening clamps due to the non flat surface on the internal surface.
