I found a large roll of copper sheet (0.6mm I think), as used on roofs etc. - turned out to be realy helpfull as a heat sink, as you can easily turn it into any shape you want...
So yeah - I find copper sheet much more practical than copper blocks, as it's felxible and easy shapeable. In the picture it's hard to see, but I had to close a gap of about 1.5mm on 1mm sheet metal - with block I wouldn't have had a chance. With folded copper sheet it was a piece of cake to close the gap
And if you need a large block - just fold it over a fewtimes and you have one - you can then later recycle it for smaler pieces etc.
Should also be easyer to obtain than large blocks of copper.
Maybe it's a little help for someone else, I thought I post that here. As I myself was always recommended to use copper blocks.
But I'm most probably not the first one with that idea
