When i was an apprentice in the mid-sixties , stainless steel logs with various accessories ( Axes, Double handed saw) were always being made as gifts for birthdays and christmas. I gave one to my daughter that she still has, The log had a rustic oval hole in the top that could be used as a small flower holder, Andrea uses her to keep pens and pencils in, will try to remember to take a photo next time that I visit,

yes it does rate as "cool" lot of hours in it for sure it appears quite large and heavy but then there is no mug for scale
