consumables in France

OK some of you in France (hint hint Sparkey) , Just had some friends over on a 2cv forum moaning about the price of wire and gas in France any one in France got any links to suppliers of Gas or other consumables?

Actual facts and real life experience of getting real stuff from a supplier! dont just google and send me it or tell me some crap you heard off a mate, thanks and no despite it being considerably cheaper Weldquip wont send it to France either....tried that

Hmm yes...would love to help but i don't buy my own consumables or gas...i don't have my own welder (yet)....
Only thing i know is our plant buys the gas and our wire (bulkpacks) from Airliquide (Oerlikon wire) and the small reels of wire come from Lincoln in Sheffield (trough a salesman in France ofcourse) don't know that store's name but i could find out?

Other than that...it IS expensive here!!! have a look on the French Fleabay for used welders....you will find...NOTHING!! Or soo f'ing expensive you could buy a new one instead....

Sorry i wish i could do more... did they look at Decharenton?

As Sparkey says. V. expensive here for all stuff. My gas costs me €200 a year rent + refills at €75. (Mison 8)
French companies don't do competition. Keeps profits up.
I need a new plasma, so that is coming from UK as well.

So, can't reccommend any outlets here.

Edit: Welders wharehouse does send to France as do others, ask around. I will be getting my plasma from Plasmapart and though it will be picked up by a friend who is coming over, according to their site they send stuff here.

Do you get your gas at Linde gaz? that was what i was going to suggest...the easy part is they have distributors everywhere so no running around with a gas bottle...
200 euros a year...pffff that's a lot!!

Yep Linde, couple of agents near enough. The rent is enough, but they actually tried to bill me for two. Not only that, but they send a bill, then chase you a week later, followed by threats, all within two weeks.

Ed; Sorry, just checked my bills. The amount is €227 for three years contract.
