constant wire feed issue on mig welder

Have picked up a gys monomig 250 last week from my grandfather. have bought a new torch and hose for it, but have found that the wore feed is constant with both the old and new torch.

can anyone point me in the right direction please as to how it can be fixed ?

start by checking the wiring back to the circuit board and disconnect it, then try again if still the same it could be that a transistor or similar has gone short circuit keeping the motor running if the later I doubt the speed control will be working
