Connector identification

The man from Lucas keeps torturing me with wiring issues on the tractor, today I’ve found what I’m hoping has been cause if many issues, a corroded connector.

Could you housefuls chaps help in identifying the offending item?

Looks like a Moulex 12 way 0.93
Expect Farnell CPC stock, how far does the corrosion go Does not look good + is there enough slack
If you are replacing like for like remember pins & sockets are wire sized

looks like the corrosion is limited to the bare copper in the connector, I suspect ware water has been blown back by the fan.

Be surprised if the orange is just what you can see at back of female connector, the damp leaches back under insulation

Don’t know if this will help. The six way connectors came from motor factors a long time ago as did the Lucas ones, part no. may be obsolete. Haven’t got any info on the terminals, but you might be able to tease yours out of the housing and change the ends.

They look a bit like mate n lok connectors,

I would probably re pin them, as you can buy spare mate n lok pins, from vehicle wiring products

But the biggest problems I’m finding is that most of the connectors including the mate n lock have a maximum wire size of 2.5 mm ware as some of the wires in this connector are either 4 or 6mm

why worry. just replace it with whatever you can get. i like econoseal connectors. guaranteed that'll never happen again.

I think you should pull the chunky red/white starter solenoid and brown power feed wires out of the equation and put them in a beefy two pin plug, the rest put in a new eight pin plug/socket . Looks like there has been arcing/burning on the power feed brown.

I’m stuck for the weekend now so plenty time to figure things out, that could be a good plan, I think there are 3 heavy wires though.

If I ever bump into the man from Lucas, he best hope I’m in a good mood!

wouldn't get too excited about the exact same connectors, multiblock connector blocks exist - easily found, as mentioned, vehicle wiring products have all you need.

So they shouldn’t be in it, which is probably part of the problem, I would move them out and use a beefier connector.

That is a better fix than the 12 way will the 2 connectors go in the plastic\rubber shield I would also fill with silicon grease
