Confusion with eurotorch conversion.

Evening guys & gals.
As a new member & a very new to welding newbie, I've found the info gained here very helpful. After spending time reading different posts I've taken the info & made various alterations to my welding.
I've got a clarke 145 turbo mig with the industrial torch...(we all have to start somewhere) .... I've taken the step & pur based a parker eurotorch & gas solenoid conversion. .... Now at this point,I will say I'm a retired truck mechanic, not an electrician. I've mounted the solenoid, fed my three wires to the correct side of the machine, & I'm ready to mount the torch, but I've searched high & low & can't find any info as to where I should or where best to wire everything up.
So I'm bowing down to all of you in the hope that someone wiser than me can help. I will say, I'm a parkinsons patient & as my stress over this mounts the worse I'm making it .

Thread 'Converting Clarke 160T to Euro Connector'

Having bought a nearly new 160T with the torch absent and Clarke (and their agent) not wanting to talk to me, I got on with converting it to a Euro style torch and decided to take pics so that those of you who'd want to do the same could maybe benefit from my efforts.

The 160T has a sloping front which complicated things a bit. I fashioned a bracket that squared things up and allowed me to position the socket in relation to the drive unit. A far easier solution would be to turn a nylon spacer with a slope but I decided to use the basic tools at hand at the time...

Welcome to the forum Dave.
Whith your background you should not have to many problems wiring this up.
Few things that you need to find out.
1 What voltage is the gas solenoid (240, 24, 12 v)?
2 Which pcb is fitted to your machine ? (pcb number, E1292 maybe)
3 How well will the Euro socket "fit" in the space just in frount of the wire feed roller assembly. It may be necessary to add on a mounting box to give the socket something to fit to.
