First off would like to say hi to all the lads and lasses on here and a big thanks to Malc for the tutorials etc....
Am looking into learning mig welding for car body repair, (also up to 4mm thick for modifiying some brackets) and would like to start off with a Clarke.
This is where the confusion for me starts, looking at the Clarke models something like a 160 would cope with the thicker metal but at 30amp minimum setting would this be too much for 0.8mm bodywork?
The little 90 goes down to 25amps but I guess would not cope with thicker metal?
Any advice appreciated,
thanks,
Rich.
