compressor tank as a reciever

I am waiting for a new regulator/switch for this compressor but would like to use it as a receiver till it turns up. Will this be ok to do as a temporary fix, I don't want to damage the "valve thing" on the side of the tank.

That's fine.

I'm guessing the air is coming in along the black rubber pipe?

That should be ok as the "valve thing" (non-return valve) will normally be holding pressure. Make sure that jubilee clip is on nice and tight though.

Yes that's right, I want to take advantage of the next couple of days of warm weather to get my epoxy down and don't expect to get the regulator till the weekend.
