compressor stand

after months of falling over our little 25litre compressor i finally
got round to making a stand for it
nothing special just used some left overs from my kit car and my trailor to make it

some piccys

a little close up of one of my beautiful welds

and last of all my little mig

which is low on gas

it was done like this so the compressor will lift of as i carry it in my van every now and again

Hi,

that's neat in a minimilist sort of way...

is the compressor strapped to the supports at all? If not, is there a chance it could vibrate off?

I've been looking for something to do with mine and it's the same size. I had throught of stuffing it under the bench but I keep metal under there.

it wont vibrate off
the wheels are fixed to a flat bar which has two holes in it
the two bolts on the frame fit into these.
ill take another piccy
as its hard to explain

A very elegant design. How did you anchor it to the wall? This is usually a job for chemical anchors. Normal Rawl bolts vibrate out.

the wall is a deviding wall between my workshop and garage
its bolted to another piece of 3mm angle on the other side which will become part of my shelving
(hope that makes sense)

Very neat.

I would have used the angle section in a 'v' to sit the wheels into and then strapped around the axles.

how high up is it? you can't tell in the pics. Make sure you can easilly hit the red off button in an emergency.

Very neat! I think you can deservedly use the word "stand" and not be forced to use such word as "stand" or "floor". Very neatly done.

how do the welds look??
i'll be honest that is only the 5th time ive ever used a welder
and most of my other work was just tacking bits together

Hi,

a bit 'chunky' but they should hold OK. If I'm using something like your vertical bolts for anything I like to run weld all the way around...that way I could maybe not get full penetration on part of it and it's not serious as it holds somewhere else.

Don't worry about getting it 'perfect' yet, if you've only used the welder a few times than it's good and you'll get better with practice.
