Anyone else using the plastic meter storage sheds to house their compressors outside?

Whatever you use to house a compressor it will need plenty of ventilation otherwise the motor and pump can overheat causing problems

At work, we've been putting 3HP compressors witn 150l receivers in the Keter store-it-out boxes for years. The compressors provide control air to operate valves and instrumentation for gas extraction plant on landfill sites 24/365.
The Keter boxes are the cheapest thing we've found that works. Just over 4ft wide, the floor takes a couple of 600x600 paving slabs. We tend to fit Paulstradyn a/v mounts to the compressor, which helps with noise and stops the compressor walking around. The 100l compressors with wheels are more prone to walking around. We fit a 16A socket inside to power the compressor.
The Keter boxes tend to hold up pretty well. We probably get 5-10 years of life out of them, though I'd expect most folk to get rather better than this: our guys only visit site every week or two and one of the things they check is the compressor duty cycle: time it running, time it off, and take the running time over the cycle time. If the compressor is working significantly more than usual, an airleak somewhere on the system is likely. The cycle can take 10 or 15 minutes with the box open, so if it's a windy day, the doors/roof can get damaged.
