compounding finishing question

ok car sprayed in cellulose primer and top coat then coumpounded with g10 and coumpounding grinder type machine.
question is after the coumpounding should the car be washed with something as when wiped with a dry cloth is appears to have a haze.
not my car but my fathers
any and all help much appricated.
he is guessing that there may be a residue of the coumpound still left on the car

didnt spray it when it was damp did u and bloomed. try a bit of tecut if its still there u gonna have to flat it and spray it again

he had the room in which he was spraying well heated before he started spraying
just try t-cut wax is that what you mean

bloom is when the air is cool and moist it makes the finish coat hazy . not a good shine, sometimes it polishes out .maybe the compound u were using was 2 course and paint wasnt hardened .try tecut it might rub out

ok ill pass that on
the finish coat was sanded down with approx 1200 grit and then coumpounded when i saw some of it done there was a mirror like finish on it just a perfect reflection of what was opposite the car.
i believe he left it too weeks to allow for the paint to harden

if you cant cure it with a good wash to remove any residue then

the grade of compound used g10 may be too fine after being flatted back with 1200 for an initial polish (compound) i would have used g3, g10 is good for removing very light scratches or restoring faded paint
also are you using a bodyshop polisher with a foam head not a converted angle grinder as the angle grinder would be spinning far too fast

a hand finish is allways best

hope you are adding water to compound as you use machine.
and are not running m/c fast.
try a good wash down with soap and plenty of water,to get compound out of all the joints.
g3 would of been first choice, but you should get by with what you have.

yes he is using a bodyshop polisher with a foam head
and adding the water
just cant understand why when he is finished compounding the finish looks perfect but when just using a dry cloth then it goes hazy

could be the foam is too course.
myself,i only use lambswool mops. you might want to try one of them.more forgiving.
dont be shy with the water,it will soon dry it up.
