Has anyone any experience of Technologiss compound tables?

Assuming it's actually made in Eastern Europe it'll probably be miles better than anything from the Far East... daft to say that 20 years ago anything from Poland area was regarded as junk, funny how times change.

thats rather a large table to use on a pillar drill ?

Cross Vice

I use a 6" cross vice, its bolted to the round Dril table, and has X and Y travel making centre finding dead easy and accurate, ( Like the one in the pic)The drill has an uprated motor on it, so when drilling anything with a biggish drill there in no chance of a hand held vice snatching out of your hand.
Your suggestion looks a fine bit of kit, but as suggested can you fix it to the drills table??,
Oh and big stuff I have an adjuster that supports the table in the middle as its prone to flexing just a wee bit.-- its actually a suspended floor pedastal.

Axminster power tools do a similar table at half the price, they dont quibble about returns either.

No offence to anyone who has one, but we tried one at work and it was shocking. Poor casting quality, leadscrew not on-axis, jaws not machined parallel... eventually it accidentally got knocked off a bench and shattered.
We bought a Paramo second-hand off Ebay... it's better than the drill it's used under

Mixed reviews aside, I'd agree it's OK for the intended purpose.
Either way the OP will need a vice to mount on it; may be worth considering what the maximum height of table+vice+workpiece, plus the size of the drill head + chuck + drill bit might be; a table-top pedestal drill might not have enough rise on the head to be workable.
I can run out of 'headroom' on my Bridgeport mill with a large part in the tilt/swivel vice.

there crap when they came out on the market years ago there was paint on the gib strips clean that off and was as sloppy as hell with a bit of fettling i was told they would be half usefull not that i need one or even buy one

Problem I have is that my bosses like to think they're engineers, so when they decide we need a lathe or a pedestal drill or saw table they default to el cheapo Machine Mart tat and then wonder why nobody can achieve decent results with any of it or it breaks within a week.
I point them in the direction of a secondhand Colchester or Bridgeport and they want that, but at a fraction of the price.
...and then I point out that buying the machine is only a start; you need tooling, clamps, coolant, DTIs... funny how so many used machines seem to be missing all the things that the previous owner MUST have had in order to be able to use it

The long battle between engineering people and accountancy people was lost many years ago. The accountants won completely.

I've been considering doing exactly the same but haven't yet spent any money on the idea. I came across that very one in your ebay link too along with loads of the cheap xy vices that get slated by most who use one. RDG tools also do a couple of compound tables too which from what I've read should be good enough for the purpose even though it maybe Chinese. I'll be interested to hear what you opt for and what you think of it if you decide to get one...

The axminster looks to have the same / similar base to the smaller vices but with a bigger table.
Paul, I had also spotted the RDG. both are around the same price which is why I was seeing if there was anyone who had used one of the Polish ones.

I am still looking at the second hand / used market as I don't need to rush in, I won't be picking up my drill until the new year.

If you do get one before me Paul I would be interested in your findings.

I'll certainly let you know if I ever get one - though like you, at the moment, with no specific need for one, I'm happy biding my time hoping that one will appear locally or for a bargain price on Ebay . Something tells me though that it will end the same way as my search for a local(ish), 2nd hand, single phase mig welder did... i.e giving up looking after 6 months and buying new.
