Composition of stainless wire

I'm curious as to the makeup of stainless mig wire. Missus is a jewellery person and was complaining about cost of stainless steel wire so I joked about just getting a roll of mig wire, which got me wondering if that might not actually be a bad idea!
Is the wire just stainless steel? Nothing funny added specifically for welding purposes that'd cause skin to fall off of something!

That's for 316Lsi 'food grade' stainless.
It's the Nickel that affects prices with alloy surcharges, depending on metal market rates.
