Interesting progress on my issue with the Chinese business man I have mentioned a few times.

I have had a compliance check of tax position sent to me. which is actually good as it enables me to move forward without knowing i have put a noose round my own neck. lol

It gives me an opportunity to get THEM to force the guy into revealing his accounts so I can file an accurate tax return.

What is intriguing is that it says they have received information relating to my ebay account (They have even got the users name wrong) lol and a shop site . The shop site is one of about a 20 I have created but never done any sales from or anything with . They have been a learning opportunity and a hobby.

Anyway just beware and make sure you keep good accounts as it looks like they are targeting the little people while the likes of costa coffee and starbucks are still not paying tax.

Yep I'd second that,why would anyone create 20 accounts if not for buisness transactions.?

I have TWO ebay accounts. One I used to sell items until I was stitched up by a Chinese guy. The other I used to sell my own bits. The second account is useless as its a buying only account now. 99% of what I sell is my own stuff. Ebay do NOT see a business account the same as some people term a business. Some ebay facilities are just not available to private users. As an example you do NOT get the same visibility or fee structure. You cant list a lot of items .

I have been selling off my sons RC racing items, these are our own personal items and are NOT business related. They are from a hobby BUT as ebay has now got a monopoly there is little choice but to use them.

That is the site they speak explicitly about. IF they bothered to read its very clear why the site exists. PLUS if you try and buy something you cant.............lol

Another is http://mistatees-grafix.co.uk/index.html another is http://www.lozandholz.co.uk/store/ this one is so my son and girlfriend can sell off their baby clothes my grandson outgrows etc. Last I knew selling our own items was not a business as VAT has already been paid and we are NOT making a profit.

I did read it correctly, makes no odds if you have multiple business or private accounts it will still flag up in a search and the people that are trying to evade tax use multiple accounts.

As I said I DONT have multiple accounts. I have two and one of those I cant sell on... Had them both for 10 years or so..

My mistake, having read it again what you have written is ambiguous, "and a Website" would be clearer than "and a shop site" following "Ebay account".

A Google search with the telephone number from your website shows other websites, forums and an Ebay account registered as a business user with a feedback of 5207. It does look like you have been selling a lot of stuff! The Compliance Check will be painless compared to the cavity search that could be coming your way.

Actually its not a problem. I welcome the check as it means I can now get the Chinese guy to reveal his accounts. The vast majority of the 5000 plus items were his and all the money went into paypal and then HIS Bank Account. ALL of this information is held in paypal . I have shed loads of excel sheets plus emails with him and his accountant showing I have tried for months/years to get the information from him.

This is the sort of reply I was getting from his accountants.

"Hi ******* as you can now tell I am getting very annoyed about the lack of action settling the money owed to me by Mr ***.

Despite the fact that ***** had suggested he will forward a spread sheet I feel you have had enough information on which to work out exactly what Mr ***** owes me.

Now we have taken some considerable time to look deeper into the accounts provided by your client we have found further massive anomalies which are now detailed in the enclosed sheets.

It is immediately obvious that your Client not only indulges in very devious business practices but also extremely dodgy accounting ,resulting even their own accountant not fully aware of what they actually do and do not do.

There is obviously the issue of outstanding interest we have not even started to work out yet so perhaps now we have done Mr ***** work for him yet again we will see if ***** ***** assertions, that Mr ***** would rather sort this out sooner rather than later, is indeed true.

I am also very disappointed that despite Mr V thinking he can hide behind an accountant and solicitor, and not bother meeting with me to discuss his wifes appalling accounts, and the outstanding money he owes me , I wait for days on end and still do not get a phone reply from you or your offices advising me what is going on.

The tax issue with my son needs sorting immediately and whilst we have tried our hardest to enable you to advise your client that it is NOT in his interest if the Revenue and VAT to have to undertake an in depth investigation, but we can not stall for much longer .

II think you will agree it is no ones interests in Mr ***** companies being brought to their knees as everyone will loose out. As it is currently it is just me and my family loosing out. This situation can not continue any longer.

I would appreciate a reply by return to confirm you have received the paper work requested. I would also appreciate a time scale with which this debacle will eventually get sorted?!


AND another.

that allows us to disclose information to you, as we are not aware of being given any authority to disclose
any information to yourself."

So you can see how impossible it was to get the required information from them......that was even when I told them I was filing a complaint against them lol

Thanks for the advice. I dont have any intention or desire to hide anything! I feel really grateful for the chance to get it all sorted once and for all.
