"Compatible" Dewalt Batteries

Hi,

Is anyone having any joy with third party batteries for Dewalt 18V stuff? I only have 1.5 or 2.0Ah which are fine for my power tool use. But we also have strimmer, and when she's using that she gets through two or more batteries. So I'd like at least one higher capacity.

I tried one at random from Ebay, but it turned out to be no good, at a guess less than a third of advertised capacity, and doesn't work with one of our chargers. I'm just in the process of returning it.

I have around eight with one dud. TBH if I needed more I’d buy the fakes rather than the full price dewalt again.
In terms of capacity the exact same size units variously describe themselves as 4, 5 and 5.5AH so probably all fours.

There’s no point in me linking to them on amazon as they are all the same units drop shipped from the same manufacturers, occasionally with random product stickers.

In summary, if you can get 2 for £40 from amazon (which will refund if they’re stuffed - I wouldn’t recommend eBay as a source) then I’d recommend them.

Ditto / same case re knock off makita batteries of which I have probably around six.
