basically, I work in automation. I have a good solid mechanical background but if I want to progress up the job ladder I need electrical knowledge which I currently have none of apart from messing around with old cars which isn't really the same as 3 phase stuff. basically its so I can rewire panels/motors etc.. without danger of death. most of the guys here are sat on their HNC/HND high horses and I don't have the time/money/brain power to get to that status but a level 2-3 in the subject will bolster my CV out nicely.
my local college don't really seem to be much help apart from trying to get me to sit in a class room one day a week with a load of spotty children which is impossible for me as im a grownup with a day job, or they offered me an evening 2391 course which from doing research I doubt I will pass as a beginner.
ive had a good look around the interweb and ive just confused myself, so I thought I would ask on here as some of you guys sound like you know what you are on about. what qualifications/courses should I start with/are worth a damn to a potential employer.
sorry for the essay.
regards, gaz.
