Combi boiler vent?

Got a small problem, or big, depends how you see it. I am going to be building a garage at the side of the house in place of the con`y, just bigger
Now there is the exhaust/outlet/vent, what ever you want to call it that is a bit to low, if it stays where it is it will then be inside the garage, i guess this is no good, so a thought, put a 90 deg bend in it to face upwards to exit through the new garage roof.
I cant cut a hole higher up as it is as high as it can go as is, and nowhere else for it to go.

any ideas folks please, if i cant i will loose 7 foot of the garage length, not good

was at a house today and they had a periscope boiler flue to clear the flat roof. just buy the correct one for it and don't bodge one up

All sorts of kits available for boilers. Expect to pay at least 3 or 4 times what you think the kit SHOULD cost...

A Plume kit as its called isn't that expensive but

/engineer mode

You shouldn't mess with the flue as its potentially dangerous, CO is a real danger

it will not be bodged, done properly by fitter if need be, just looking for the flue/plume kit.

Some are easier than others, some are a complete flue change, some change the terminal and others just slide over the existing terminal.

The regs regarding outlet position and length also vary between makes

Have a look in the manual for your boiler, it should have a few diagrams showing what the permitted flues are.

it is a Main combi 24 he, i have the details on it, just rying to fins a place that sells the vertical flue kit.
Flue height can be 4m high. it is in section 8

Its just a flue to me to get rid of fumes, but now i have the part number i need i can ring around a few places to see what they doto help ot. There are a few Main parts suppliers on ebay i can call. if i can find the number of the chap that fitted it i will call him to do the work and see if he can get whats needed.

good thing is i can sort this problem, although by looks it is going to cost near on £200 to do it will be worth it i think.

Whatever you do make sure you follow the manufacturers instructions or if it is spotted by anyone who knows what they are doing they will have to cap it off.

A plume kit is only for extending a condensing boiler flue outlet pipe to a more convenient position mainly because of the steam emitted and does nothing for the air inlet part of the flue.

I have not fitted that particular boiler but most manufacturers do a vertical flue connector to come of the top of the boiler upwards and then either up through the roof (using a vertical flue kit) or up then through the wall with a (horizontal flue kit) If you can go up internally and then go out above your extension you may be able to use your existing horizontal flue with a vert flue connector a bit of flue pipe and an 90°elbow.

Again check your instruction clearances, commonly minimum of 300mm above a flat roof.

Unless it's downslope of a Velux, then it's 600mm.

dont forget to factor in a pipe slate to form a flashing around the vent iff going through flat roof
