Coloured Upvc double glazing

Cheap white windows do look terrible, seems to me the cheaper they are the thicker the frames are?

My first house had all hardwood double glazed windows custom made by the previous owner (carpenter) every summer I would spend a weekend rubbing down and applying 2 coats of Sadolin, they looked great, when I sold the house, the first thing the new owner did was rip them all out and fit white upvc

Only today, my son and I fitted a new back door to my pad, wood grain UPVC, that he supplied (handy having a son who's a manager for a Window manufacturer!) and once fitted I stood back and observed that it looked a little darker than the windows. He did point out that the windows were fitted over 30 years ago! As for the condition of the rest? Nothing wrong with their appearance, though one or ten of the windows now have varying levels of moisture ingress, but they still keep the outdoors out!
