Colour Sanding

What do people recommend for colour sanding and buffing?

1200 grit then Farecla G3 on a buffer? I always find it difficult to get the 1200 marks out though in past trials thought never used the G3. There's lots of pads etc out there can anyone link me to a kit that will see me through the basics?

If I'm trying to get an OEM slightly orange peel finish should I start with a higher grade of paper? I very much doubt my spray skills will be up to the mark so anything to hide the errors!

It is easier work to go to 1500 or more before the G3.

What do you apply G3 on? I have an old Silverline DA buffer somewhere but am unsure whether that is sufficient.

needs to be a rotary buffer really , and yes use the finest paper you can get away with and keep it super clean

I bought a Makita DA3011 angle drill, with speed chuck, it has variable speed, so has good control.
You can buy the 3" & 2" foam pads and velcro adapters, it also has the benefit of being an angle drill, so is a bit more universal
No matter what grade of w&t 1200-3000, you still get scratching, I never got on with Farecla, made things worse IMO, 3M products I find work for me.
