Colour Coat

I,m about to purchase the gloss colour for the final coat on my MGA, nearly there after 6 months !!!!.
What make of 2k paint would you guys recommend(I just need a solid gloss, the local shop recommended Nexus ICI is this any good ?) obviously being a novice I need the most forgiving to apply, and what speed of hardener would you recommend as I've an unheated garage ?

the quality of the paint does not necessarily give a good finish for a novice, its more to do with technique and gun set up. any supplier with reputation will give you the best advice.. if they cant give you mixing ratios and the correct hardener etc, go elsewhere. I see you are IOW. My supplier is Automotive paint supplies, they have a branch in Southampton.. Whip in and speak to Jane, she knows what she is talking about. They supply Max Meyer which is good stuff. My best advice is get a little extra and praactice a panel. ive got a pageant blue midge which im going to change to BRG. what colour you going with?

Thanks for the advice. The colour iris blue (Rover BU12 ). I notice for gun set up pressure is quoted at the tip, I've got a guage on the gun but is this the same pressure as at the tip ?

The pressure in the gun leaflet is at the inlet. Low pressure guns are approx 10psi at the tip, which you need special equipment to measure.

as said, i dont know why they publish tip pressures. ive always used convensional guns. my base setting is fluid control out 3 full turns, 45psi at the gun and fan pattern 8" @ 8" from the panel/wall. 2 full passes with 1/2 overlap speed 1mtr per second.
