Colloidal silica, as used as a filler in epoxy resin etc.

can it be just mixed with water + perlite to make a high temperature curing, insulative "concrete"?

lots of conflicting opinion, and even more forum posts which never actually answer the question.

So I thought i'd ask here - cos I'm sure someone will know

I want to make a cast firebox for a rocket stove. perlite+colloidal silica I can obtain in quantity, locally, cheaply.
co2 hardening is also a useful factor - I'm hoping to produce several.

Just get it delivered; there's plenty of online vendors that will sell you a 25kg bag.

But....
Its still *much* more expensive.

Plus, the instant hardening with co2 is a factor.

If no-one knows, ill risk the £40.
