College to industry success stories

Just looking for some people who have re traded through a level 2 college course and got a job in the industry, im currently studying tig level 2 after 5 years as an army medic. Sometimes I feel that I dont get the tuition I need as there are 30 people on the course and only 2 tutors. Has anyone gone from college straight into the industry or have they had to do work experience for free first? Any advice is welcome. Cheers!

it took me nearly 2 years to get a job welding from when i left college.was really frustrating and still is as i don't get a massive amount of weld time or any guidance as im the only welder where i work. stick with it if you enjoy it tho
