Something to be aware of when using Gold Galv paint, I spent about 6 hours roller painting the steel frame of my new shed so I can put the sheet metal cladding on to it. I was painting outside in a 10 to 15km wind and so thought I would be safe, apparently not!, spent the next week coughing my lungs out, only just managed to get an appointment to see my doc, who prescribed a puffer and antibiotics, the ingredients list 20% Xylene and 10% unspecified solvents. I didn't wear a face mask as I really thought that the wind would have diluted it way down and or carried the fumes away from me. I have used the same paint for decades and never had an issue with it, so either they have changed the formula or else I have become sensitized to it. Either way it is not a pleasant experience. The doc said I should recover in another week or so. Anyway another painful lesson learnt!
