Colchester triumph 2000

Hi All

I have a Colchester triumph 2000, where the motor is starting to sound very sorry for itself, does anyone know a company that will do an exchange or could offer a new replacement motor? ideally I need as little downtime as possible as its got a fair bit going through in the next few weeks.

If the motor is noisy the most likely cause will be bearings, a very easy job to do your self.

If you have some bearing pullers, it takes my about 30 minutes to re bearing a induction motor and any decent bearing place will have them on the shelf.

That was my first thought, we have remade one of the pulleys and the bearing had worn the inside out, just wanted to see if replacements were easily / cheaply available. Even though it hasn't had a lot of use in the past 15 yrs, I think the now constant use is starting to show a few weak points.

I would imagine the motor would be a standard frame size so shouldn't be too hard to find, they are quite a big motor 7.5Kw iirc so not going to be cheep, compared to bearings anyway.
