hi im 17 and im looking to become a a coded welder and i was just wandering what quailifications do you need to become a coded welder also am i right in saying you need to be a coded welder to be able to weld off shore/on a boat/nuclear/ pipework

Apprenticeship with a company would go a long way to achieving your goal Cornish, this should be your 1st port of call. Also training organizations.

agree with Runnach little point of collecting Codeings for codeings sake, An apprenticeship with a firm will put you on the path of having some paper work, thats actualy needed for a job..

It really is just FD, googled could not find any more blockbusters with tasty welders/come dancers in.......mmmhhh I hope theres no lo-his being used in that bathroom environment.

cornishnutter not sure if you still use this forum,ive only just joined it and its probably old late help for you but you are correct you did need codings especially for off shore/nuclear and ship building and generally also pipe welding,with the ship building side most want flux core arc welding coding,sorry if im to late
