CO2 refill in Carlisle, UK or surrounding area.

Hi

I have acquired a CO2 gas cylinder off ebay that has finally ran out of gas and i'm struggling to find the right place to get it filled.

It is of BOC origin and has suregas sprayed on the side which i think to be a pubgas cylinder.

I have heard and keep reading the lucky people out there getting theirs refilled for £10 or less even!

If anyone in this north cumbria area or a little further has any helpful info in filling this type of cylinder or getting a refill i would be over the moon

if its a pub co2 bottle it will be waist height and you could always try you local friendly pub landlord they are only around 12 quid supplied to the pub or find a wine / spirit merchant and get one from them but dont tell them its for welding you will be shown the door

I got my BOC Suregas bottle from an independent welding supplies supplier. The bottle does have a label attached which says "For beverage dispensers only."

there is some sculduggery going on
those bottles arnt supposed to be used for anything but food grade usage due to contamination and then returning to be used for drinks machine according to one supplier

Yes - I've had the bottle for ages but only just noticed the label!

He doesn't seem too worried what he takes in exchange either.

ive found the same my mate has a pub and i usually just exchange the bottle usually free aswell

Inngas at Workington has the full range of welding gases at roughly following prices.

Co2 £13 a year to rent and £12 a refill

Argon /Co2 Big bottle £30 a year to rent and £30 refill

I am a hobby welder and my last bottle of argon/co2 lasted over a year so was well pleased at just over a £1 a week

I cant help with getting your bottle refilled but I know a guy in Carlisle who'll swap an empty Co2 extinguisher with a full one for 5 quid. Hunter engineering at Kingstown do the hobbyweld cylinders (proper argon welding mix) I'll look for the prices if your interested - the wife has been tidying up and moved the flyer I had with the prices scribbled on.

Just been there Today, its £55+Vat deposit for the bottle and £27+Vat for the Co2 / Argon mix and £27+Vat a refill after

Its a 9L bottle and I think he said it equals around 24 of the little disposable bottles.

You can keep the bottle for as long as you want and when finished you get £40 back when returning it.

Its Rent free as well.



Is this a good price? Im new to this stuff (Also from Carlisle as well)
