CO2/Argon on Ebay

Hi found this supplier of co2/argon mix on e-bay was wondering if anyone out there has used there products and if so how did they compare quality and value wise with some of the other suppliers out there.

If i am doing the maths correctly its a 5ltr bottle, filled to 200 bar, thats a fill volume of 1 cubic mtr or 1000 lts. he states it should give over 3hrs of welding. which would mean setting the regulator to just over 5.5 ltrs per minute consumption. think he is being over optimistic on his welding time. regulator settings of around 10ltrs per minute is normally recommended for mig, which would give you 100 minutes useage, or just under 2 hrs.
But as he says its cheaper than disposables.
sale price £15 + £50 deposit which you get back £45 if returned within 24months. Plus £10 postage and packing. for small users its probaly not a bad deal

£35 for a refill (cos of £10 postage each way).

Would be a handy size if you move the welder around lots.

I wonder if he can do other mixes & straights as well? Could be cost effective for low use doing the odd bit of TIG or Ali.

I guess you would need 2 bottles so you can send one back at a time or better yet 3 so you can swap two at a time to save on postage.


My big concern is will he be around when its refill time?

WTF? Where are the labels that are legally required?

Also, any standard courier company that ships these around knows they are not covered. Refills might become an issue as the seller will have probably blown himself up by then anyway.

Safety labels who needs those, after all as you say they are only a legal requirement so not that important. not clever
