Speak with Rob at Xtreme. He was trying to do this and I’m not sure where he got. I’ve not spoken to him in a while about it.Any uk manufacturers? Up to 12" 16mm thick
Okay. We don't need the machine to feed pipe through, pipes are only 3m length, but need lobster back angles and transitions, y pieces etc. Can't be gas cut, can't be abrasive cut easily. Which only leaves plasma.Speak with Rob at Xtreme. He was trying to do this and I’m not sure where he got. I’ve not spoken to him in a while about it.
Not heard anything so maybe not quite there yet but it’s worth an ask to see where he’s at.
Koike could be an option. The only one that I know is this :
Otherwise you have to go with Koike , but the pipe cutter comes with a full cnc plasma table ( and to be fair the cutter does not look so precise , seen on Weld.com youtube channel ) .
16 mm thick ? What kind of pipes are you going to cut ? Something structural or for high pressure ?
I think it was a rotator on a table so you had X and Y from the table and Za(?) with a rotator chuckOkay. Sell your Swifty and get a Koike with pipe cutter !!Koike could be an option.
Yes i know i have used them. They work okay but no good for plasma torch. These are used on this side of the pond out in the oil patch:
However, you need different sizes for pipe diameters.
I have seen the H&M's used with a plasma torch, but your wanting to do contours.Yes i know i have used them. They work okay but no good for plasma torch.
The end plan here is to get this automated to cut branches, saddles and birds mouths and segments for lobster backs.
I have eyes up a pair of motorised headstock/tailstocks with chucks. Would need to change motor to stepper/encoder and find some software to control the rotary axis and the z axis of torch.
