clutch fork

I was changing the clutch out of my 1999 Honda civic yesterday and there is a pretty deep wear groove under where the release bearing slides. I was thinking that I could just build it back up with the tig and grind it back to shape, but then I was wondering if it was just pressed mild steel or some higher grade steel that was hardened and would need some form of heat treatment.
any thoughts

I thing you can just buy that part it only bolts on I'm not100% on that car but have a look if it comes off

the fork does come off and I am pretty sure that I could buy one, I just need it done quick because it is in a mates garage and I don't want to take up his garage any longer than I need too

If you don't have time to do it right, when will you have time to do it again.It surely won't take very long to get a new one.

weld it up it will be fine done loads on all different cars when i was working in a clutch centre.
if we could not get for next day is was welded up. and yes customer was notified about it and would still cover it on warranty if there was any problems.
i never had one come back.
