My experience is you ar e better off buying a proper makita DGA452. The copies I have tried have not lasted very long (unlike the clone DTW285 1/2 impact driver which is excellent)

I have their opposites.
The Wickes batteries fit well enough to be used, eerily similar in the dimensions of the retaining mechanism and contacts......

you know what.... I saw a random redding post saying it was a milwaukee clone so I ordered one...
now I look closer they're not :-(

yeah there was talk that all the tool manufacturers were going to bring out the same format...it doesnt seem to have come to pass but there is such similarities between most to make you think there was something in it.I have their opposites.

Bosch, Fein etc. have recently announced a cross platform system. It'll only be certain brands, though.

I think a quick trim with a dremel on the length of one of the slides would have these batteries sliding all the way in. I keep meaning to do it.

Apparently the only thing better than one universal standard battery platform, is two separate and incompatible universal standard battery platforms....
I have one of the clone Makita grinders, I have tried it along side a genuine one & its hard to tell the difference power wise, maybe a bit smoother. The clone has seen regular use since I bought it & shows no sign of dying.
Price wise, the clones are around 1/5 the cost of the real units so in the case of the op it would make sense to buy 4 clones to replace the corded ones. By doing this you'll spread the work load between them & they'll last for ages!
But be aware that genuine or clone, they will not have nearly the same power or torque of a corded grinder. They also eat batteries for fun.
