Can anyone recommend me a single pack / single stage clear matt wax or spray that dries hard?
The situation is I'm a blacksmith experimenting with finishes on my interior work and I've discovered that I love the look of graphite based stove pastes burnished up (particuarly Liberon Iron Paste).
The problem is that they never seem to fully dry and continue to mark light coloured fabrics even after a long time rubbing down, or even after being applied thinned down.
I've experimented with sealing the graphite paste with the Autotek Clear Laquer spray I had in stock, it seemed to do the trick but left a glossy sheen that killed the satin lustre of the graphite pastes, so I'm thinking that I need something similar, but matt.
Obviously I've Googled this and see that I can just buy a matt laquer, but I thought I'd ask the question anyway because someone might throw out a suggestion I hadn't thought of. I don't know anything / have any interest in cars but I expect there's automotive products out there that are the ticket. My only point of caution with a wipe on / brush on clear sealant is that I don't want the thinners to affect or smear the burnished look I've got from the graphite paste.
Cheers in advance.
