Cleaning tarmac.

Following my building work I have some parts of the drive no longer black.

One part has some rust all over it from a parts bin that tipped over and was full of malt viniger and metal parts.

Others dry sandy looking but are bCk when wet

Any ideas how to clean it up?

Have not got one just a jet wash. Thought there might be some chemicals to remove rust?

u could spray over it 1st with diluted brick acid or jeyes fluid here http://www.jeyes.com/en-gb/our-products/jeyes-fluid/

paint it with tarmac paint

Jet wash off and as said above. Tarmac paint it..it's funny old stuff if you start using chemicals. ..

Rust stains can be removed with a solution of oxalic acid crystals dissolved in warm water. Safer than "brick acid".
Jeyes fluid, if too strong, softens tarmac.

Plus 1 for oxalic acid, just take care as it is poisonous

I accidently spilt some rust converter on my driveway, it went from being a rusty colour to being black again.
