Hi All, I am going to be welding up an exhaust system and was wondering what would be the best way to prep the pipes ??? I have so far scuffed the weld area with a flap wheel and wiped it down with lacquer thinner. Anything else ??? Jack
As long as it's nice and bright it should be OK. For best results, clean the inside of the pipe, too (for maybe 1/2" from where the weld will be). Die grinder is best for this, but you may be able to get a flap wheel in there.
