Cleaning gun after epoxy

Hi, made a start to one of my restorations done some welding and painting and loving it as usual but I was wondering what is the correct product to clean the gun after using epoxy primer (lechler in my case).

I’ve got a 5lt of cellulose thinners but I’d imagine it might react funny and that I’d need something else, is there anything off the shelf or is it all mail order gunwash etc?

First swill out use 000516 Lechler thinners, then switch to gunwash.

Yes and then I like to blow a little solvent through it when reassembled.

I've never cleaned with epoxy thinners first, its too expensive for that and I don't see the need.
I just use cellulose thinner.

I've a cheap gun I've used for years with epoxy and it been fine.
Every now and then I strip it completely for a proper clean.

If you have a spare gun, use clean thinners in it to pressure wash the outside and the nooks and crannies. It's not as good as a proper cleaning station but gets you part of the way.
Keep the fluid tip almost closed so you are not just wasting thinners.
The cleaning brushes (small bottle brushes) are cheap and well worth having.

gunwashe should be fine , as said make sure you dismantle the gun and do a proper job , then blast some through until dry once finished

Thanks for every reply, appreciated! I’ll use the cellulose thinners then as its what I have kicking around at the moment, making sure its done properly and blasted through before and after cheers.

I didn't say to clean it out, just an initial swill which I find dissolves the paint faster, then I use gunwash. A few mL of 516 is not all that expensive for the benefit I believe it gives.
