Cleaning/grinding welds

Hi all

I have to do a repair patch on my Landy and it is in the corner of the wheel arch bellow the door catch pin. Because it will be seen every time you open the door i want to flat the welds back the best i can to make it look correct. I cant think of anything that will get into the tight corner to grind my welds back, can anyone recommend some tools to do the job?

If not, then one of the electric powered versions.

With a 40 grit belt they smooth welds down much faster than a Dremel (although a Dremel is a great tool as well!)

For occasional use a Black and Decker Powerfile will do the same job as the Makita for a lot less money On Amazon or available at B&Q type shops usually. I had one for Christmas a couple of years ago and it is invaluable.

Yes, I meant a 10mm belt sander (air or electric powered) would do the job, does not have to be a Makita or Clark.

Do you have a die grinder - maybe you could use a small grindstone or a burr?

I'll second the die grinder and carbide burr. A Garryson long series burr is a few bob, but with a (air?) die grinder, will get you into those tight spots...just don't use a carbide burr on a drill-not fast enough, will shatter and slow as hell. Good luck with it, in the same boat myself
